Within the Legal Department, you will join the team responsible for the strategic partnerships supporting the distribution of our games, including partnerships with major digital and technology platforms and console manufacturers, and contribute to the implementation of Ubisoft’s publishing strategy. You will work closely with the “Global Publishing” operational teams worldwide.

This is a primarily transactional role, focused on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and supporting their implementation.

It offers the opportunity to work with major industry partners while helping Ubisoft respond to evolving technologies and distribution models.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director, your responsibilities are structured around the following three areas: Contributing to commercial transactions and strategic negotiations: You take part in strategic negotiations conducted with the Publishing and Sales teams concerning key business, distribution and co-marketing partnerships for our games; You independently draft and negotiate our distribution agreements with console manufacturers, major digital and technology platforms, streaming/cloud platforms providers and other partners for the distribution of our games across console, PC, mobile, and VR; You work closely with all relevant stakeholders (Business, Sales, Finance, Corporate, Data, Marketing) to ensure all relevant considerations are addressed throughout these negotiations; You support the implementation and ongoing management of agreements and advise operational teams worldwide on their interpretation and application, as well as other day-to-day matters concerning the digital and physical distribution of our games; On an ad hoc basis, you may also support other transactional or corporate matters.

Providing broader operational advice: You advise operational teams on competition law matters and market practices arising from distribution, commercial negotiations and partnerships; You provide practical, business-oriented advice on a broad range of day-to-day operational matters in an international environment and coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders and legal specialists on cross-functional and multi-jurisdictional issues.

Developing your expertise in new technologies and evolving distribution methods: You monitor technological, market and legal developments relating to the video game industry, including content distribution and translate relevant developments into practical guidance for internal teams; You develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the legal implications of evolving distribution models and technologies and recommend practical adaptations to our contracts and distribution models.

To succeed in this role, you have relevant experience in commercial transactions, business law and/or intellectual property gained in a law firm and/or in-house, within an international environment. Business-oriented, you have solid experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, ideally with major digital players or technology companies.
