The opportunity Unity’s organic search and AI visibility work has grown past what one person can hold. This role takes ownership of the operating layer: the reporting that tells teams across Unity how their content is performing, the analysis that shows what to fix next, and the experiments that test what actually moves visibility in search and in AI assistants.

You will work directly with product marketing and content marketing managers across business units, including the Grow and Ads side, through standing weekly meetings with those teams and their product owners. In practice that means you are the person they bring questions to: what their content is doing, where the gaps are, and what to do about it. You will also build the higher-level reporting that goes to leadership. A good deal of this surface area has no current owner, and recognizing that and picking it up is part of the job rather than a favor.

The rest of the work is what keeps the practice sustainable: automating repetitive optimization tasks instead of absorbing them forever, keeping the data and tooling behind the reporting trustworthy, and turning work that is currently done ad hoc into a process someone else could follow.

In the near term, success looks like partner teams getting reporting they trust without having to ask for it, and the optimization backlog moving without supervision. Further out, it looks like you running your own projects end to end, from spotting an opportunity through to proving whether it worked.

A fair amount of what gets said about AI search right now is unproven. This role asks you to hold two things at once: skepticism toward claims with no evidence behind them, and a willingness to act on cheap bets before the evidence arrives. Being wrong on a low-cost test is fine here. Waiting for certainty is more expensive than it looks.

What you’ll be doing Represent search and AI visibility to partner teams: hold standing weekly meetings with marketing teams and product owners across business units, work out what each of them needs, and deliver it.

Own SEO and AI visibility reporting: build and maintain the reporting those teams rely on, along with the higher-level view that goes to leadership.

Run analysis that leads somewhere: content gap analysis, performance decay, and opportunity sizing, delivered as recommendations partner teams can act on.

Design and run experiments: test what genuinely affects visibility in search and AI answers, automate the repetitive work, and drop what does not earn its keep.

Make the practice sustainable: keep the search and AI visibility tooling and data trustworthy, including the Profound instance, and turn the optimization, briefing, and review work into process that scales beyond any one person.

What we’re looking for Can build a report from raw search data rather than forwarding a dashboard, working in tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, and Profound.

Have run a content gap or performance analysis and turned it into recommendations that someone else executed.

Can work with stakeholders who do not report to you: establish what they need, agree what you will deliver, and deliver it without being managed through each step.

Have automated or systematized repetitive work rather than absorbing it indefinitely.

Can tell an unproven claim from a tested one, and still make a reasoned case for acting on a low-cost bet before the evidence exists.

You might also have Working knowledge of structured data, schema markup, and on-page technical mechanics.

Comfort working in a content management system, including reading and editing basic HTML.

Scripting or spreadsheet automation for handling large batches of pages, redirects, or keywords.

Experience delivering against surfaces that no team formally owns.

Familiarity with how AI assistants retrieve, interpret, and cite web content.
