Apply on Unity’s site →Software Engineer, Tooling & Automation The opportunity We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join the Automation and Tooling Team. This is a great opportunity for graduates or early-career engineers looking to grow in a highly technical environment. Our team consists of Software Development Engineers in Test spread across two locations in Europe, working collaboratively across sites and time zones.
You will join a team responsible for the test infrastructure underpinning Unity s continuous integration. The team builds and maintains CI pipelines across a wide range of platforms — desktop, mobile, consoles, XR and embedded systems — ensuring that Unity s engine and editor are thoroughly tested before every release. You will work alongside platform specialists and collaborate with development teams across Unity to keep CI pipelines healthy, investigate test failures, and improve test coverage and stability.
Being part of the team, you will ensure the highest possible quality and productivity for feature development by creating and maintaining CI pipelines, and help developers efficiently use them. You will also leverage modern AI tools to enhance productivity and explore new approaches to test automation and analysis.
What you ll be doing Creating and maintaining CI pipelines for Unity across supported platforms Building and improving tools and frameworks for optimizing platform and test coverage Troubleshooting complex, failing CI scenarios across code and infrastructure Working cross-team and cross-site to coordinate test infrastructure changes with development teams, platform teams, and other stakeholders Advocating good engineering practices in the team and ensuring tooling surrounding quality is just as important as the product itself Utilizing AI tools as Claude to boost productivity in analysis, automation, and problem-solving What we re looking for Experience with or knowledge of Unity and its usage Programming experience in C#, with secondary experience in Python Experience with CI/CD systems, for example Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar Experience with or knowledge of AI tools usage, such as Claude, for development productivity An analytical mindset with the ability to debug issues across code and infrastructure layers A team player who thrives in a collaborative, cross-site environment 0–3 years of professional working experience You might also have Knowledge of specific platforms supported by Unity Knowledge of Unity test frameworks and testing methodologies Familiarity with scripting in Bash or PowerShell Experience with development supporting tools such as Git, code review workflows, and project management tools as Jira Interest in test infrastructure, test stability analysis, or code coverage tooling Base Salary Range: kr539,400 – kr809,200 DKK gross This range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for equity awards and participation in our company incentive plans (such as annual discretionary bonuses or sales commissions). The final offer amount will depend on several factors, including geographic location and the candidate’s relevant experience, professional background, and skill set.
