Role Overview
The Engineering Product Manager serves as the bridge between Engineering and Game Product teams. This role partners closely with engineering leads and game product managers to understand business and technical needs, gather requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop roadmaps for internal engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate is technically proficient enough to communicate effectively with engineers while translating technical work into clear business value for stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Partner with engineering leads and game product managers to gather requirements, identify opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and support roadmap planning for engineering initiatives.
Own and maintain the backlog for internal engineering products and platforms.
Facilitate communication between Engineering, Game Product, QA, Analytics, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
Translate business and technical needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
Coordinate feature development, project timelines, releases, and stakeholder communications.
Provide recommendations on priorities based on business value, engineering effort, and stakeholder feedback.
Define success metrics and monitor product performance to drive continuous improvements.
Establish and maintain standards for product requirements, documentation, release notes, and user guides to ensure consistency across engineering initiatives.
Facilitate roadmap reviews, planning sessions, and cross-functional meetings.
Identify opportunities to improve internal tools, workflows, and engineering processes.
Qualifications
3+ years of Product Management experience, preferably supporting technical products or engineering teams.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern software development practices.
Comfortable discussing technical concepts including Unity, JavaScript, APIs, backend services, cloud infrastructure, mobile applications, and game development.
Ability to understand technical tradeoffs and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience writing product requirements and maintaining product documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the mobile gaming industry.
Experience with internal developer tools, SDKs, LiveOps, analytics platforms, or backend systems.
Familiarity with AWS, SQL, REST APIs, or similar technologies.
Previous technical experience is a plus but not required.
