The role is working within our studio: Ludios
About Ludios
Ludios takes its name from the Latin, it means "The Game People". Led by Eyal, one of the co-founders of Tripledot Studios, and some of the most experienced people in mobile games, we are a studio that makes and publishes our own casual, free-to-play mobile games. Our team is based across APAC, with the majority of our development happening in Jakarta and Melbourne. We are data-driven, creative, and genuinely passionate about the industry we work in. Right now, we are working on a number of exciting projects, including one built around a globally recognised IP, alongside several original titles we are equally excited about. If crafting games and reaching millions of players is what gets you out of bed, we would love to hear from you.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on R D Product Manager who can turn clear product direction into playable features, systems and mechanics through rapid, AI-assisted prototyping. Working from an established strategy and creative brief, this role will explore how an idea should work in practice. You’ll design and build prototypes, test different approaches and use player behaviour, feedback and data to validate design decisions before concepts move into full production.
This is not a product strategy or market research role. You won’t be responsible for deciding which trends or opportunities the studio should pursue. Your focus will be on solving design problems, proving out ideas and helping the team understand what works, what does not and why.
Responsibilities - What you’ll be doing…
Translate product and creative direction into playable features, systems and mechanics.
Rapidly prototype gameplay using AI-assisted design, coding, art and development tools.
Explore multiple design solutions before recommending a preferred approach.
Design and test progression, economies, difficulty, rewards, controls and supporting game systems.
Use prototypes to validate design assumptions and reduce uncertainty before production.
Gather and interpret playtest feedback, player behaviour and early performance data.
Clearly communicate findings, trade-offs and recommendations to product, design and development teams.
Improve prototyping workflows to increase the speed and quality of experimentation.
Work independently within a defined direction, with minimal day-to-day guidance.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Candidates may come from game design, technical design, gameplay prototyping or indie development. We’re especially interested in people who have worked hands-on across multiple parts of game creation and can move quickly from an idea to a functional, testable experience.
Strong hands-on game design experience, particularly across features, systems or mechanics.
Experience building playable prototypes rather than working solely through documentation.
A strong understanding of casual or hybrid-casual mobile game design.
Practical experience using AI tools to accelerate design and development workflows.
Ability to break broad direction into clear design questions and testable hypotheses.
Confidence using qualitative feedback and quantitative data to evaluate design decisions.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to explore, discard and iterate on ideas quickly.
Comfortable working across design, implementation and early-stage production.
High initiative and the ability to make progress without requiring detailed instructions.
