Senior Technical Program Manager, Mobile San Mateo, CA As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will drive the development of software that powers the mobile experiences defining the future of the PlayStation ecosystem. You will coordinate complex technical initiatives across mobile applications and cross-platform systems, ensuring successful delivery of products that delight millions of users worldwide. You will be responsible for orchestrating programs across Android native development, React Native implementations, and critical infrastructure systems. Your role involves you in every facet of the launch lifecycle, from initial planning through production deployment.

Responsibilities: • Drive end-to-end program execution for mobile applications and infrastructure systems, coordinating across engineering teams to deliver scalable and performant solutions. • Manage program timelines and dependencies across mobile and console teams, ensuring alignment between Android native, React Native, and backend infrastructure initiatives. • Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies and facilitate sprint planning, working closely with engineering teams to translate product requirements into actionable deliverables and realistic timelines. • Coordinate with international stakeholders (USA, Japan, UK) including UI designers, product managers, and engineering leads to ensure cohesive program execution across time zones. • Own program schedules, risk mitigation strategies, and executive reporting while actively managing dependencies between mobile client development and platform services. • Partner with engineering teams to define system architecture decisions, technical requirements, and integration points between mobile applications and PlayStation ecosystem services. • Drive adoption of development best practices, tooling standardization (JIRA, Confluence), and process improvements across distributed teams. • Identify and resolve roadblocks proactively, using performance metrics and data to inform program decisions and priority adjustments.

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager driving consumer-facing mobile or software products from conception to launch. • Proven track record managing programs involving Android native development, cross-platform frameworks, and/or infrastructure systems. • Deep understanding of mobile development lifecycles, including experience with both native (Android/iOS) and cross-platform (React Native) technologies. • Expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies with hands-on experience using JIRA, Confluence, and similar project management tools. • Strong technical acumen to engage credibly with engineering teams on architecture decisions, technical trade-offs, and implementation approaches. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders from individual contributors through senior leadership. • Experience coordinating programs across geographically distributed teams with proven ability to navigate cultural and timezone differences. • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail while managing ambiguity in fast-paced environments.

Desired Qualifications: • Experience with mobile application performance optimization and metrics analysis. • Understanding of mobile application architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, MVP). • Familiarity with gaming, digital entertainment, or consumer electronics industries. • Knowledge of privacy compliance requirements for mobile applications. • Master s degree or MBA in a related field. • Experience with GraphQL APIs and modern mobile development frameworks.

Working Environment: • Agile team environment with startup culture within a large organization. • Location flexible with hybrid work options. • Travel required (domestic and international), estimated 15-25%. • Individual contributor role without direct supervisory responsibilities.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
