SUMMARY:
The Strategic Initiatives (SI) IP Team is dedicated to creating smiles through authentic experiences that invite everyone to engage with Nintendo characters and worlds. We act as one global team, stewarding the Nintendo brand and IP working in close partnership with our global teams and headquarters in Kyoto, Japan.
The Entertainment and Partner Experiences team in SI manages global IP partner marketing, retail strategy, merchandise programs, and cross-functional development and execution for licensed merchandise and global entertainment experiences from partners such as LEGO, Hasbro and NBCUniversal .
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Develop and execute consumer facing marketing programs and strategic partnerships programs across multiple business functions, driving collaboration, communication, and alignment among cross-functional stakeholders.
Build and maintain partner relationships to drive brand value, alignment, and marketing execution in line with Nintendo standards through creative and logistical problem solving.
Evaluate partnership opportunities and develop recommendations that support marketing and business strategies.
Lead partner outreach, relationship development, and partnership discussions to identify and advance strategic opportunities.
Manage partnership pipelines, prioritize initiatives, and oversee execution from concept through post program analysis.
Develop and present to senior management business cases, project plans, and recommendations for leadership approval, considering brand impact and ROI.
Develops partnership concepts and opportunities aligned with business and intellectual property strategies, and oversees creative asset development and approvals with internal teams and partners as assigned.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to drive activation and brand awareness on Nintendo channels where appropriate.
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, facilitate meetings, and provide project updates to ensure alignment and follow through.
Strong understanding of marketing best practices and consumer trends for major IP
Experience working in entertainment marketing (movies, music, theme parks or similar areas) preferred
Previous experience reviewing assets to ensure they meet approval standards
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years experience in agency or corporate marketing, business development or related/transferable consumer marketing experience.
Proven record of leading and resolving complex business negotiations with positive results.
Proven record of coordinating efforts for successful fully-integrated national brand partnerships and consumer promotions (or similar brand marketing experience) with significant market/consumer impact.
Effective communication skills: ability to ask probing questions, listening to learn and reading/adjusting communication approach based on the audience and situation.
Critical thinker able to identify action items and interdependencies, with a strong creative mindset.
Proven ability to understand promotional strategies and tactics to ensure feasibility of core ideas.
Ability to manage details, competing priorities and work both independently as well as in cross-functional team dynamic.
Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job family and basic knowledge of related job families.

Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes the base pay range listed below, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
Pay Range: $108,450 — $173,550 USD
