About the Role

We are seeking a creative and passionate Industrial Designer to help establish our internal product design capabilities. You’ll bring your knowledge of concept design, manufacturing, video games, pop culture, and niche fandoms to our growing team. In this role, you will create and iterate on industrial designs in electronics and collectibles to surprise, delight, and connect with our fans.

You’ll support the design process from early concepts through production, creating beautiful, functional, and brand-appropriate consoles, controllers, and collectibles. Our collaborative, fast-paced team values creativity, ownership, and bringing products to life quickly. This is a hands-on role for a designer who enjoys prototyping, iterating, and solving real-world product challenges.

What You ll Do

Product Design Development

Design exciting products that capture the heart of our brands and licensed collaborators while satisfying the needs of our audiences.

Collaborate closely with the Creative team to bring 3D designs to life in solutions that convey appropriate visual and tactile messages with consideration for the production process and cost targets.

Help develop and mature our existing product design language.

Generate multiple concept directions for assigned projects and advance strong solutions within the agreed concept and refinement timelines

Prepare and develop concepts for user testing through prototypes or renderings.

Support designers with generating and communicating the visual and physical aspects of designs through sketches, illustrations, renderings, and 3D prototype models.

Develop manufacturable, durable products by identifying and helping resolve design, engineering, material, and assembly challenges before final production handoff.

Help drive efforts surrounding R D in new materials, 3D rendering, and on-site production.

Support design team with creative feedback, production assistance, etc.

Collaborate cross-functionally and with vendors to maintain project momentum and achieve 100% alignment with agreed development milestones and deliverable dates.

Deliver high-quality design solutions on schedule and achieve approximately 90% approval from cross-functional partners within each project phase, incorporating feedback promptly when revisions are needed.

Design Process Collaboration

Clearly communicate design strategy and creative process to internal stakeholders, including design and executive teams.

Participate in regular group design critiques and planning/concepting meetings in order to arrive at the best possible products and experiences for our customers.

Collaborate with team members to identify social, industry, and technology trends that influence the development of future products.

Set and meet design project deadlines on-time, with team support.

Work closely with the Creative Team and other LOBs inside the company to develop designs that align with visual assets and overall product launch goals

What We re Looking For

A strong portfolio that illustrates your creative skills across the design process.

Great sketching, concept generation, and design development skills, knowledge of design methodology.

Excellent visualization skills (hand sketching, digital 2D and 3D rendering).

Prototyping, mock-up, and modeling ability.

Understanding of prototyping, materials, and manufacturing processes within product development.

Acute attention to detail.

Ability to develop an understanding of human factors and design trends as they relate to project needs.

Software

Strong knowledge of 2D, 3D, and rendering software – including Rhino 3D, AutoCAD, Sketchbook, Keyshot, Photoshop, Illustrator, Solidworks, Cinema 4D, and Blender; Maya a plus but not mandatory.

Manufacturing Materials

Knowledge of manufacturing materials and processes, primarily plastic injection molding, metal die casting, and stamping.

Familiarity with defining and implementing color, materials, and finishes is a plus.

Knowledge of plastics, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturing

Strong hands-on prototyping skills across materials and methods

Industry Knowledge

An interest in and knowledge of consumer electronics products.

Strong understanding of pop culture trends, fandoms, and the licensing landscape.

Professional Skills

Entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic.

Strong creative and analytical thinking/problem solving skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, providing deliverables on time.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning projects with guidance

Education Experience

BS/BA in Industrial Design, Toy Design, or a related field.

5-7 years of experience as a product designer, preferably within the entertainment, licensing, creative agency, or pop culture industries.

1-3 years of consumer product development experience

Salary Range: $90-100K
