Moon Active is looking for a passionate and hands-on Level Designer to join our rapidly growing company. In this role, you will be the creative force behind world-leading player experiences, combining a strong product/game design mindset with an excellent visual eye. You’ll design engaging levels, craft perfect difficulty curves, and use data to continuously balance your work. Beyond hands-on creation, you will take ownership of the production cycle—guiding Art and Animation teams and driving cross-functional collaboration to bring your levels to live production on time. If you love games, thrive on creating immersive experiences, and know how to lead a level from concept to launch, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and visually dress engaging levels and mini-games from concept to final polish using internal tools and Unity.
- Plan level progression and craft difficulty curves that keep players engaged, using quantitative player data, A/B test results, and user feedback to continuously test, tweak, and balance the experience.
- Guide and collaborate with Art, Animation, and Tech Art teams, providing clear feedback to ensure all visual assets are perfectly tailored for your level designs.
- Take full ownership of driving levels to production, motivating and leading cross-functional teams to meet strict deadlines and run schedules.
- Actively pitch and contribute ideas for new game mechanics, obstacles, and themes to keep the gameplay varied and fresh.
- Apply strong game design and UX principles to guarantee optimal layout, and overall player satisfaction.
- Continuously improve your level creation pipeline, exploring new tools (including AI-driven workflows) to work smarter and scale production.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the gaming industry in hands-on or creative roles (such as Level Designer, Game Designer, Tech Artist, or Product Manager).
- Basic working knowledge of Unity or any other game engine (no need to be an expert), and a strong ability to quickly master internal proprietary level editors.
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide Art, Tech Art, and Operations teams to deliver on time.
- A keen eye for composition, aesthetics, and visual storytelling, coupled with a strong product design mindset.
- Proven experience in continuous, data-driven level balancing (using metrics and A/B testing to refine difficulty and player flow).
- A creative, proactive, and ownership-driven ("can-do") approach to overcoming design challenges and production bottlenecks.
- Deep love for gaming - especially casual mobile games - with a constant drive to engineer new and exciting player experiences.
Advantage
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools for level ideation or content generation workflows.
- A portfolio showcasing engaging, visually polished levels or relevant gameplay projects.
