Balor Games is a "Triple I" independent game publisher dedicated to long-term stewardship of high-quality creative works. Formed by former leaders of Humble Games, Balor Games oversees an expansive catalog of acclaimed indie games, following the acquisition of the Humble Games and Firestoke catalogs.
Balor Games aims to serve as a cultural curator for independent games, while providing expertise, resources, and belief-driven support to visionary developers.
Balor Games is contracting a project-based, hands-on Brand Manager to support awareness and commercial success for the 1.0 release of a SCP: 5K, a successful early access title with over 12,000 Positive reviews on Steam.
We’re looking for an experienced marketer who knows FPS titles, understands PC and console audiences, and is comfortable working closely with developers.
Scope of services and deliverables
- Go-to-market plan: deliver a brand strategy and campaign calendar for the title, aligned to agreed KPIs and platform launch windows.
- Creative briefs: produce briefs for art, graphic design, and trailers so every asset reflects the game's brand identity.
- Console platform and partner outreach: pursue first-party support and marketing partnerships, drawing on fluency in console showcase, storefront, and feature mechanics.
- Stakeholder alignment: provide Balor and the developer with budgets, plans, and performance updates at agreed checkpoints, and obtain required sign-offs.
- Vendor coordination: recommend and coordinate third-party vendors across PR, social, influencer, and storefront, ensuring they have the assets, brand guidelines, and licensor parameters needed to execute.
- Asset coordination: coordinate high-impact creative assets with external contributors and agencies.
- Campaign delivery: execute the marketing beats, including showcase submissions, first-party opportunities, pre-release hype, announcements, and post-launch community engagement.
Engagement terms
- Fixed-term, milestone-based engagement; fees invoiced against agreed deliverables.
- The contractor determines their own methods, working hours, and location, and supplies their own equipment and tools. Balor provides access to game builds, brand assets, and relevant platform accounts as needed for the services.
- The contractor may engage subcontractors or work for other clients during the term, subject to confidentiality and conflict-of-interest provisions in the Services Agreement.
- This engagement does not create an employment relationship and does not include employee benefits.
Bonus
- Have worked on early access titles and/or helped launch early access titles into 1.0
- Familiar with SCP Foundation
